reyna was born in colima, mexico. her dad was a tourist from the philippines and her mom was born and raised in colima. she grew up roman catholic. reyna never felt like she belonged, so she started working at a young age to save up money to move. at 16, she moved to makati city, philippines and worked multiple jobs. at a bartending job, when she was 18, she met kim je-yun, choi min-won, and choi ji-woon while they were on vacation. reyna and ji-woon immediately became friends since both admire each other; reyna admiring how easy ji-yoon’s life is and ji-yoon admiring how hard reyna works. ji-yoon tells reyna about how she married her childhood friend, min-won, because he’s rich. when reyna shows interest in her plan, ji-yoon helps set her up with je-yun, a ceo of a tech company owned by his dad. even though reyna is 18 and je-yun is 23, both got close very quickly and once the vacation is over, je-yun bring reyna back to seoul, south korea.
the two quickly start dating and reyna loves the lavish life style. after a few months, she gets accidentally pregnant. je-yun and reyna quickly get married. reyna hates the idea of being tied down to a person, so she confides in ji-yoon. they quickly become best friends and get very close. reyna gives birth to her son, kim eun-ji, who she named after ji-yoon. reyna and je-yun’s relationship slowly turns cold. reyna tries to pretend she’s inlove, but je-yun doesnt hide that he also hates being tied to someone. he goes on many vacations and work trips, but when he’s home, he’s abusive to reyna. it starts as small fights before it slowly turns into constant fighting and berating. he forces her clean their entire mansion by herself while cooking all the meals and solely taking care of eun-ji. reyna acts polite and sweet as if she doesnt mind the constant abuse, but inside shes full of rage. she spends most of her time at ji-yoon and min-won’s house with eun-ji. she often spends the night there. its during these nights where ji-woon and and reyna get closer and slowly begin a sexual relationship. while ji-woon tries to make the relationship more romantic, reyna shuts down whenever romance is even hinted at. they continue to be friends, with reyna forcing a platonic relationship whenever she can. she would often make homophobic jokes or say homophobic slurs to shut ji-yoon down, but she would also continue being a sweet friend and initiate sexual relations. after a few years, je-yun’s abuse turned physical. reyna, fearing for eun-ji’s safety, starts looking for ways to escape. she knew he couldnt live with ji-yoon because thatd be too obvious and she didnt want to admit that she was being abused. she had too much pride in her strength and faux perfect life. one day, out of no where, she disappeared. no one ever found out where she went since she kept her true interests and motives so secret.
